Wasteland DayZLauncher
Find a server, hit Play, and the launcher installs your mods and starts DayZ. Install it once and it updates itself from then on.
What it does
Everything you do before you spawn, made faster.
Install in 3 steps
Download
Click the download button. The installer is a single file, no folders or extra tools.
Run the installer
It sets itself up in seconds and adds a desktop and Start Menu shortcut. If Windows shows a blue warning, see the note below.
Play
Open Steam, launch the Wasteland DayZ Launcher, pick a server and press Play. Set your player name in Settings.
Always on the latest version
Current version: …
No reinstalling. Ever.
Whenever a new version is released, the launcher notices on startup (and every few hours while it's open), downloads it quietly in the background, and shows an Update ready message. Click Restart & update and you're on the new version in seconds.
You can also check by hand any time under Settings → Check for updates, or turn automatic checks off.
Questions
Windows says "Windows protected your PC"
- Click More info in the blue window.
- Click Run anyway.
This appears for new apps that haven't built up reputation with Microsoft yet. You only see it once, when you first install. Updates after that install quietly.
What do I need?
Windows 10 or 11 (64-bit), Steam installed and logged in, and a copy of DayZ. About 250 MB of free space.
Does it only work with this server?
No. It lists community servers from everywhere. Our server is just easy to find: search for it and star it to keep it on top.
How do mods work?
When a server needs mods you don't have, the launcher asks Steam to download them from the Workshop, shows the progress, and starts DayZ when they're ready. Steam needs to be running.
BattlEye kicks me or won't start
